Off grid location for an opera
The Wadopera Peter Grimes organized by Nootstroom chose a special location for their rendition of the opera piece. Since the original opera takes place in a fishing village along the Suffolk coast of England, the nature reserve outside of the Frisian village Paesens-Moddergat presented itself as an authentic choice. The Wadden Sea region is on the UNESCO World Heritage List, but a large part of the Wadden Sea falls under the Natura 2000 regulation. However, due to the choice of location, the electricity supply had to be off-grid and silent. The Verno team tackled this challenge to cause as little disruption as possible to people and nature.
Quiet and zero-emission electricity during performance
During the performance, our Greener battery supplied the necessary electricity to ensure a quiet environment for the best possible conditions for the singers and viewers. By charging the battery packs during the day, less disturbance was caused. This solution also prevented the emission of CO2 and nitrogen during the performance, which could otherwise have disturbed the visitors. Furthermore, no distracting generator could be heard in the background during the opera. Using the battery, significant amounts of diesel fuel and emissions were saved.
