Glamping at 30 degrees: we keep it cool

Glamping (glamorous camping) is becoming increasingly popular. This form of camping often offers the luxury of sufficient electricity for a refrigerator and sometimes even air conditioning. This often temporarily requires more power than the campsite’s mains connection can supply. We meet this temporary demand.
The mains connections of campsites are often not heavy enough for this new form of camping. Having a grid connection weighted for only the peak during the camping season is expensive and has a long delivery time.
If you look closely at the electricity consumption at the campsite, it peaks during the day. And especially during (electric) cooking. And everyone cooks at about the same time of the day. This is such a moment when the campsite’s mains connection can no longer cope.
We can absorb this peak by placing a battery between the existing grid connection and all consumers. We call this peak shaving.
Our software that controls the battery keeps track of when there have been peaks and learns to recognize patterns in the electricity consumption of the camping guests. In this way, the battery prepares for peaks and charges itself sufficiently during off-peak hours with power from the mains connection.
The batteries can be delivered to site within hours to provide additional power.
