Meet Joey Belshof – Our Business Developer

Are you curious to hear from the people behind Greener? In this blog, Joey tells us more about who he is, his work here and why he joined our team.   

 

To start: what are two fun facts about you? 

1. I’m a big Italo disco fan. It’s a major love in my music collection—perhaps a bit specific, but I’m truly passionate about it.
2. I’m a fan of spicy food. I always try to order the spiciest dish on the menu.

 

What do you do at Greener? 

At Greener, I’m part of the sales team. Within the team, Niels and I are responsible for the “grid” domain. What does that involve? We establish and expand the customer segment, which includes visiting clients, developing strategies to reach this target group, and initiating conversations with them. Our work is twofold: on the one hand, we schedule meetings with parties that reach out to us, and then either Niels or I visit them. On the other hand, we actively look for opportunities in the market. 

 

Why do you like working here? 

What I like most about working at Greener? It’s especially exciting to be in the phase of growth that Greener is currently experiencing. This gives you a lot of freedom to explore where the opportunities lie. You really feel like an entrepreneur. The team is super dynamic, and you interact with everyone in the organization. For instance, during lunch: on Tuesdays, you might sit next to a front-end developer, and on Wednesdays, next to someone from the People team. It feels very close-knit, and you don’t work in isolation. 

 

Where can we usually find you in your downtime? 

I love cycling! You’ll frequently see me on my road bike, traveling across the country, ideally on a multi-day trip with a tent on my back. I also enjoy spending time in record shops or at record markets, as I’m passionate about music. Alternatively, you might find me in a movie theater; I find it a great way to unwind.
